About Us

Dedication and Service

The name Common Scholars comes from the idea that as we exit the Age of Information, any given person now has access to the sum of all human knowledge at any given time and is now capable of learning about anything they wish. The focus of this organization is to fund and conduct beneficial research outside of the setting of higher education, with a huge emphasis on citizen science. We want to not only help people educate themselves with the tools everyone has access to but also enable them to provide useful data for the various projects and studies we have planned for the future.

All of our projects will follow three specific standards:

  1. It must be beneficial - It has to provide some sort of potential benefit to people and/or the environment, or have the potential to improve the sustainability of an industry.

  2. It must be affordable - Any study or experiment must be as affordable as possible, because if it isn't something the typical person can afford to conduct themselves then it is not a fit for our mission

  3. It must be cooperative - Whether it's through an educational experience or citizen science, all projects must have some way to directly connect to the public
